AFTER insisting on not renewing gaming licenses, the Kedah state government will also announce several measures to curb immoral activities that are known to have harmful effects on the community.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor did he say that the move was important to ensure that Kedah became a safe and prosperous state.

He said the measure is also in line with the slogan introduced in the state, namely ‘Kedah Sejahtera Nikmat Untuk Semua’.

“Steps in this direction will be introduced later from time to time.

“The announcement will be in line with our efforts to curb gaming activities by no longer renewing gaming licenses in the state,” he said.

He said this when greeted by reporters after presenting the Murabbi Ummah Trail Award at Yayasan Khairiah Religious High School, Kupang, today.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Sanusi reported that so far no gambling venue owner has appealed to him on the matter.

“If anyone wants to appeal or wants to come and meet once, I don’t want to meet,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Sanusi reported that the state government is constantly monitoring individuals or speakers trying to bring the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah (ASWJ) conflict.

“Even so, the situation in Kedah is under control because we have a lot of ‘senior’ scholars. Among the hut’s scholars and teachers, many study books and the concept of learning by teaching.

“We don’t have religious teachers born of social networks. We will continue to adhere to the ASWJ and we will not accept any flow that is not this”, he said.
