Veteran actor Anupam Kher said the film ‘The Kashmir Archives’ is an impeccable example of how a mid-budget film with an impactful story can reach great heights.
Speaking about the film, Anupam said: “Being someone who has Kashmiri roots, this film was also instrumental in bringing back a lot – memories of cherries entering my house through a window in Baramulla, Kheer Bhawani’s delight, Nishat Garden, and Dal Lake that I keep thinking about even after traveling the world.”
‘The Kashmir Archives’ is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film features a fictional plot centered on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus into Kashmir.
As of 28 April 2022, the film, which cost from Rs 15 million to Rs 25 million, has grossed Rs 340.16 million worldwide.
“’The Kashmir Files’ is an impeccable example of how a mid-budget film with an impactful story can reach such great heights. For the audience, watching was an emotional experience.
“It was instrumental in bringing a story that deserved to be told, establishing a special and lasting connection with viewers and with any actor that means more success than anything,” he added.
Talking about its box office run, The Kashmir Files broke many records at the box office. Before Bhool Bhuliayaa 2, it was among the Bollywood movies to end the drought period. The film was also embroiled in some controversies. The film also stars Darshaan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Puneet Issar and many others in the lead roles.
‘The Kashmir Files’ is set to have its world television premiere on June 25 at Zee Cinema.
