The woman nearly died as she got out of the Perodua Myvi she was driving, which lost control before slipping and burning on the Sultan Abdul Halim highway here today.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operations Center (JBPM) received an emergency call via the MERS999 system at 9:22 am.

Fire and Rescue Corps (BBP) operations commander Hang Tuah Irdayu Ishak said fire brigade staff with a force of 11 people were rushed to the scene.

According to him, upon arriving at the scene, it was found that a Perodua Myvi was on the side of the burning road.

“The fire was completely extinguished seven minutes later.

“Destruction from the fire is estimated to be 90 percent, while the 52-year-old woman’s driver reported that the car she was driving lost control and skidded before catching fire,” he said.

Irdayu said the victim managed to get out of the vehicle and reported the incident via the MERS999 hotline.

“The victim suffered no injuries,” he said.
