todaykpop.com – Netflix launches new reality show based on the hit series “Squid Game” on June 14 at noon local time.
The mysterious survival game “Squid Game” has a prize pool of 45.6 billion won (approximately $40 million) at stake. Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo play two childhood friends who discover playing the game, only to find that there is more at stake than just money. “Squid Game” became the most popular show on Netflix after its release in September 2021.
Netflix’s biggest show “Squid Game: The Challenge” will be made into the highest-paid reality show of all time, dubbed “Squid Game: The Challenge”. The show will feature 456 contestants competing across ten episodes for the grand prize of $4.56 million, which is similar to the $45.6 billion that was won on the original “Squid Game.”
Participants will participate in a children’s game featured on “Game Squid” as well as a new Netflix game. The tournament is open to anyone who speaks English fluently from anywhere in the world. Contrary to the dire implications of the original series, anyone who doesn’t win will simply go home empty-handed.
“Filmmaker Hwang Dong Hyuk’s compelling story and symbolic visuals of ‘Squid Game’ shocked the entire world,” said Brandon Riegg, Senior Vice President of Netflix. Let’s make this fictional universe a reality.”
