PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi said that in the near future Shayne Pattynama will become a naturalized candidate for the Indonesian national team.
According to him, Shayne Pattynama will soon arrive in Indonesia to undergo the naturalization process.
His arrival was none other than visiting the Dutch Embassy in Indonesia, ending the interview with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) for Health Tests.
Shayne Elian Jay Pattynama (born 11 August 1998) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Norwegian club Vikings FK. Although he is primarily a left-back, he can also play as a central midfielder. He is of Indonesian descent through his father.
Shayne Pattynama is an Indonesian-Dutch footballer. He has Indonesian blood because his father is from Semarang, Central Java. However, Pattynama’s own name is the Maluku clan.
Shayne Elian Jay Pattynama was born in Lelystad, Netherlands, on August 11, 1998. He plays as a left-back. Shayne Pattynama started his academic career at SV Lelystad ’67 (2004-2007), Ajax Amsterdam (2007-2010) and FC Utrecht (2010-2017).
He made his Eerste Divisie debut for Jong Utrecht on 21 August 2017 in a match against FC Oss. He scored his first and only goal for Jong Utrecht on 11 February 2019 in a 2–4 home loss to Go Ahead Eagles.
After two seasons, he moved to league rival Telstar in 2019. Pattynama debuted on October 18, 2019 in a match against Almere City. On 18 January 2020, he scored his first goal for Telstar in a 3–3 draw with Excelsior Rotterdam at Van Donge & De Roo Stadion, Rotterdam.
Pattynama signed with Norwegian club Eliteserien Viking on March 16, 2021. He is expected to join the team on April 1.
