LONDON (Reuters) – Mohamed Salah has posted a moving statement about Sadio Mane’s contribution after the player confirmed his move to Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old Senegalese star completed his transfer to the German champions yesterday.
He has signed a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena, where he will help the Bavarian side continue their dominance in the Bundesliga.
However, Mane leaves his strike partner and close friend Salah, who is saddened by his departure.
The Egyptian hero, who is currently on vacation, posted a photo of them together on Twitter, including while celebrating the FA Cup last month.
He lamented: “It was quite a long journey!
“Thank you for all the good times and I wish you the best in your new adventure!
“We will all miss you.”
The pair enjoyed joint success at Anfield, with Salah joining Liverpool in 2017, a year after Mane arrived from Southampton.
During those five years, they won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Club World Cup and Supercup.
