Fans of The One Show were stunned last night when Matt Lucas appeared as a guest on the famous red sofa.
When he sat down to discuss his time on Who Do You Think You Are, viewers were mesmerized by the comedian’s recent weight loss.
Matt, 48, discussed his upcoming TV show with presenters Jermaine Jenas and Lauren Laverne, as well as his mother Diana.
The mother and son combination spoke about their Jewish history and their roots in Germany, which they learned on the BBC show.
Matt was shown in a preview clip of the episode learning about his ancestors, who lived with Otto Frank’s family, during the interview.
His ancestors were reported to be friends with Otto’s daughter Anne, whose diary was later unearthed and published.
Fans, on the other hand, were surprised by Matt’s much thinner form, which diverted their attention from the plot.
One admirer said on Twitter: “Watching The One Show Matt Lucas has lost a lot of weight – I need to know his diet.”
“”Matt Lucas looks great with his weight loss,” said a second, while a third added, “Matt Lucas seems to have lost some weight.” He appears to be in good condition.”
A fourth tweeted directly to the star: “Applaud your weight loss, watching you on The One Show looking good.”
Matt teased what would happen on his upcoming Who Do You Think You Are episode during the broadcast.
“It’s a heartbreaking narrative; there is happiness with my grandmother and the life she discovered, but it is a tragic story.” “He went on to explain. “She had two beautiful grandchildren after meeting my grandfather.”
Matt joked, “We’re a very modest family.” “However, knowing what happened to your cousins, aunts and uncles is extremely distressing.
“But the truth is, I had no idea who they were or what happened to them.”
“I had a nagging suspicion that she had Holocaust-era relatives, but I never knew who or how.” This film allowed me to pay tribute to them.”
The One Show airs on BBC One weekdays at 7pm
