Power Book 2 Index: Ghost (Season 1)
Power Book II Index: Ghost Season 1 All episodes
For those who don’t know, Power Book II has only one season and only 5 episodes at the moment. Two more episodes will likely be added to the list.
Episode 1 – The Stranger
The first episode of the season begins with the introduction of St. Patricks. It also introduces the character of Tasha, who is currently in the process of fighting a trial. She crosses paths with Tameika Robinson, who tells Tasha that the only way out of this mess is to practice self-defense. When Tasha makes her point by describing the ghost as a smiling sociopath, no one believes her story.
Upon witnessing the failure, Tasha fires Tameika and she begins to suspect Tariq behind the ghost’s disappearance. Heading up the events, things turn back to Stansfield University, where Tariq is admitted and later moves in with basketball star Ezekiel.
The reason behind the change was that Tariq was supposed to train and teach Ezekiel to help him get a good grade in these studies. Failing to score good scores could later cost Ezekiel his position in the team, which is why he can no longer compromise on that.
Tariq is thus appointed as the mentor of Ezekiel’s studies. But, with some misunderstandings later, Tariq shows up for a test he had no idea about. As he was not prepared for the test, he fails the test but later gets a chance from the teacher who allows him to take the test again where he passes.
Early in the episode, things start to get ugly when the ropes are associated with the drug mafia. Tameika soon discovers that one of his former employees was present at Truth the day Ghost died. Upon learning of this, Tariq begins threatening Saxe that he would testify about them being present at Truth on the day of the incident.
Episode 2 – Exceeding expectations
The episode begins in the first episode where Tasha meets with her investigators and lawyers. With a sudden slip of the tongue, she refers to her dead husband as Ghost, which raises some concerns among lawyers. They try to find out who Tasha is.
On the other hand, Professor Milgram decides to surprise St. Patrick to help Tariq mourn his father’s sad death.
Meanwhile, Milgram and Jabar get into a series of arguments where many hidden secrets are revealed. But luckily, their heated argument turns into them making passionate love to each other.
To get things back to normal, Tariq goes to a family dinner with Zeke’s family, where he meets Uncle Frank.
With everything going on, the day of the funeral approaches as well. Tasha is expected to deliver a eulogy on the day of the funeral and she arrives at the scene in the FBI van, dressed like no one expected.
But with opposition so high and people not wanting her to talk about Ghost, Tate steps up and says he would. But, Tariq takes it himself and says he would do the eulogy himself.
Tariq delivers a heartfelt speech, filled with his thoughts and emotions, leaving all the participants sad. He further clarifies that while his father was a sad man, Ghost was never the manifestation of his father’s character. Later, Tasha walks over to Tariq to hug and reassure him.
Tasha even warns Tariq that he doesn’t need to sell drugs to make money for the legal battles, saying she doesn’t want her son behind bars. To do so, Tariq assures her that he has found a safer alternative.
Episode 3 – Play the game
This is the episode where things start to pick up. The episode begins with Tasha being taken out of her cell and dressed for court. She soon realizes that it was all staged for her to prepare for the final deal. During testing, they check things out and try to stay tuned for all the details and basics.
Meanwhile, things take a turn for the worse at Stansfield University, where Tariq gets into a verbal fight with a professor. After the fight, Lauren walks up to Tariq to explain to him that he needs to be on the professor’s side in order to get good grades.
Later in the episode, another essential plot change was with Monet when he approached Cane and Dre about shutting down one of their online businesses. This soon leads to threats and fights in which Cane takes his gun and shoots the ceiling.
Episode 4 – The Prince
To ensure that his mother Tasha receives the best legal advice and support, Tariq knew he needed to find the best way to make money. In a quest for this, he decides to approach Simmons, where he reaches out to her husband to pitch the idea he’s had all along.
In his idea, he talks about an app that would have the dual option of not just delivering drugs, but online tutors to students. Liking the app’s idea, Tariq informs Bash that he needs the payment to be made in cash and without checks or other digital means.
Tariq and Bash make a deal behind Simmons’ back. With everything finalized, Tariq and Brayden hire smart students who can help them mentor the students while also helping them deliver drugs as well.
They later make the project even more hidden by assigning code names to the drugs. With all going well, Saxe grows suspicious of Tariq’s earnings. She sends her niece to a party to investigate further, but she has no idea of the things going on around her.
Episode 5 – The Gift of the Magi
The last episode of the series is the one that ends things on a good note. He brings a lot of surprises and ends up with an adult Tariq who has a surprise birthday party for him.
Meanwhile, Tasha’s lawyers manage to prove her innocence, but things soon take a turn for the worse when all the blame is passed on to Tariq. Tariq, who has no idea of Tasha’s lawyer’s plans, is taken aback by it all as he tries to prove his loyalty to Monet.
