“I am very honored to meet with SA Sara Duterte in Davao this afternoon. We exchanged views on the long-standing China-Philippines friendship and envisioned a better future for our bilateral relations. I briefed her on the substantive and positive progress of the Samal-Davao Island Connector Project, which was supported by a Chinese concessional loan of approximately US$350 million.
I am also pleased to meet the Hon. Mayor Sebastião Duterte today. I am happy to deliver 13 school buildings (worth 150 million pesos) to Davao City, a donation from the Chinese Embassy with the aim of providing a better educational environment for Davao students.
As a good friend and partner from the Philippines, we are ready to work closely with HE Sara Duterte and Hon. Sebastian Duterte in the spirit of Bayanihan to contribute to the economic recovery and livelihood of Davao, and continuously promote friendship between our two countries to bring more benefit to our two peoples.”
