Interior Secretary Eduardo Año agreed with Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia’s latest remarks about his mask mandate order.
It is still in the midst of an ongoing ‘war of words’ between the two officials over the opposing order regarding the requirement to wear masks in outdoor areas in Cebu province.
In a live press conference yesterday, Garcia criticized that even Año doesn’t wear a face mask.
Garcia insisted that the IATF must abide by its own resolution that it issues to the public.
Año called it ‘unnecessary comment’ and said there are exemptions from wearing face masks, especially in areas under Alert Level 1.
He said this includes public engagements and press conferences.
That doesn’t mean they don’t wear masks anymore, because after they talk and take pictures, they immediately wear them again.
