Traditional Socks Making Class

For a cultural event in November, the Yeoksam Global Village Center is inviting you to a cultural program of making Beoseon (Korean traditional socks) using the techniques of Korea’s traditional ‘gyu-bang gong-ye’, or boudoir crafts.
In the western culture, a Christmas stocking is an empty sock or sock-shaped bag children hang on Christmas Eve so that Santa Claus can fill it with small gifts such as small toys or candy. As Christmas season is coming we suggest that you make your own Korean traditional socks instead of western Christmas stockings this year.

Beoseon is a type of socks worn with hanbok, or Korean traditional clothing, to protect your feet or to keep them warm. Come and join us in making a meaningful gift for yourself, friends or any of your family members. If you would like to participate in this activity, please send an email to yeoksam@sba.seoul.kr with your name, nationality and phone number.

Details:
• Date & Time: November 24 (Thu) 2011, 13:00 to 15:00
• Fee: 5,000 won
• Place: Yeoksam Global Village Center
• Seat: limited to 12 persons

Directions:
